Kazumi Fujikawa, Vice President, Global Customer Market Business Insights, Global Marketing, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company leads the newly created Global Insights function in Takeda, which include secondary/primary market analytics, forecasting and competitive intelligence.
Her role focuses on accelerating the “Insights driven” evidence based decision making culture within the new Takeda organization thus enabling a sound business insights program for crafting strategy and decision making.
Kazumi is well known in the “Insights professional circle” for her distinguished experience that includes global, regional and local roles for various multinational corporations: Pfizer, IMS, Sanofi-Aventis and has covered a range of responsibilities in her previous life that includes Product commercialization Strategy, Market Research and Analytic to logistics.
She holds BA of English Literature, Nortre Dame Seishin University, Japan and holds MBA, Marketing from Leicester University, UK. She is certified, leadership and organization development from New York University and is certified of MBTI instructor from American Management Association.
She is a key contributor of creating Steering Committee of Japan Market Research Association. She has several publications related to market research and pharmaceutical marketing.

Dr. Sundeep Lal is Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Business Model Innovation for Medtronic. Sundeep has over twenty years of healthcare experience in pharmaceutical, bio-tech and med-tech industries in US and Emerging Markets. At Medtronic, Sundeep collaborates with Asian regional and country leaders and teams to create country specific organic and inorganic growth strategies and their execution plans. Passionate about creating innovative healthcare delivery models for solving affordability, access and awareness barriers in Emerging Markets, Sundeep is building Medtronic’s Global Business Model Innovation and “Solution and Services” capabilities to address such market specific challenges.
Prior to Medtronic, Sundeep was with Merck based out of Whitehouse Station, NJ. In eleven years with Merck, Sundeep utilized strategic insights to create transformational growth platforms through business development such as acquisition of Schering-Plough (Global), Sun and Simcere Pharma JV’s (Emerging Markets and China) and numerous early and late stage global R&D in-licensing programs. Sundeep’s last role at Merck was as Executive Director and Head of Business Development for Emerging Markets, where he was the key architect of Merck’s strategy for expansion into EM’s through differentiated BGx’s.
A Cornell MBA, Sundeep’s, prior background includes role as a management consultant as well a discovery research scientist. Sundeep has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Louisville where he was a University Fellow and a B.Sc. (Honors) from University of Delhi, India. Sundeep’s work has led to start up of one biotech company, 1 patent and over 15 refereed publications. Most recently, his work has been profiled in HBR and Forbes. Sundeep serves on the board of International Partnership for Innovative Healthcare Delivery, Investment Committee Observer for Quadria Capital and an invitee to Evaluation Panel for Singapore Govt’s startup investments. Sundeep has working and living experiences in US and Asia.
